Grade Calculator

Compute a weighted grade average from scores and weights in your browser. Add course items freely—free, no login—ideal for midterms, finals, and syllabus weights.

How is the weighted average computed?

Each score is multiplied by its weight, sums are divided by total weight. Empty rows without score or non-positive weight are ignored.

Do weights need to sum to 100?

No. Weights are relative. 1 and 1 behaves like 50/50; 2 and 1 behaves like two-thirds / one-third.

Grade Calculator vs Percentage Calculator?

Grade Calculator handles many weighted items. Percentage Calculator is for a single percent-of or part-of-whole step.

Does it show letter grades?

This MVP outputs the numeric weighted average. Map to letters using your school scale separately.

Is this a GPA calculator?

Not a 4.0 GPA-scale tool. It computes a weighted numeric average from scores and weights. Convert that average to GPA points with your school's scale, or use Percentage Calculator for a single part-over-whole percent.

Can I add extra credit rows?

Yes—add another row with the extra-credit score and an appropriate weight from your syllabus.

Is my data uploaded?

No. Math runs in your browser. Inputs are not stored as uploaded file content for analytics.

Is this tool free?

Yes. Free to use with no login required on Power Tools.
